Hello,

I had some expectations of what it would be like going into New Orleans early to tackle Project Dignity. I was expecting new construction, putting up drywall, lots of hammering ....

My first two day assignment was to clear out a couple of burnt out buildings. "OK", I asked myself, "how bad can that be?" When I got out of the car and was confronted by the task, I had a glimpse of ove...

Relections Of New Orleans Summit 07 Posted by aits07 August 12 2007
21:48:18
Hello All,

Given the conversation that the New Orleans Summit has been for me, these two quotes reflect where I am:

Happiness is as a butterfly which, when pursued is always beyond our grasp, but which if you sit down quietly, may alight upon you.

When we clear ourselves we allow ourselves a quiet place for spirit to alight upon us.

When one door of happiness closes, ano...

The Summit and Hurricane Katrina Posted by admin September 02 2005
14:48:29
In watching the news, I noticed most of the people trapped in the Super Dome are black. Then I thought, "captive audience". What would be the possibility of offering Pre-requisite/Summit Conversations for people who have been bused to Houston, San Antonio, and those relocated to other parts of the country as a result of the Hurricane?

Many of those relocated will be in large auditoriums/spaces...

I am living in the space of my vision right now Posted by admin September 02 2005

A major part of my family lives in Pass Christian, Biloxi, Gulf Port & Bay St. Loius, Mississippi. All of their homes possessions, and jobs have been destroyed due to Hurricane Katrina. I have been pondering what to do, until yesterday! I had no word of the status or where abouts of my family until yesterday. I had been praying all day since Monday, consistently, fervently, and I finally got up ea...

My communication to you comes after much consideration as to where to begin in sharing one of the most powerful, yet intimate experiences of the International Black Summit since we were in Nairobi, Kenya in 1996!

First of all, Anthony and I...

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE IBS IN BAHIA, BRAZIL Posted by admin April 04 2005
14:38:44
When my friend Paulo Rogério first e-mailed me a message about the International Black Summit it didn’t catch me in a strong way although he felt very excited about the idea yet did not know exactly what it was or would be. Then he told me that some English-speaking people would be coming for the event and that they were in need of volunteers to translate. I got excited about applying because spea...

What It Takes To Produce The Summit Event Posted by admin November 10 2004
22:30:37
Dear Summit Family:

I attended my first Summit in 1994. In 1998, I stood for and was aligned upon to serve as the Events Manager for the International Black Summit. I have served in this capacity and have been consistently aligned upon for the last 6 years. It has been clear to me that everyone does not know what it takes to produce the Summit Event every year. The purpose of this letter is to ...

TRIGGER . . . Complete On How It Knew Itself To Be

Lorraine and I were talking about something the other day and the distinction "trigger" came up. I noticed that I was having a very different relationship to that distinction. It felt like the distinction "trigger" was complete on how it knew itself to be (at leas...

Impressions: 2003 Summit in Bahia Posted by admin August 25 2003
01:28:47
Received 8-4-03

Some new things were created inside of the Summit in Bahia. We looked at the distinction: QUESTION vs. DECLARATION. Question keeps you in the quandry/problem and declaration is a space of manifestation. So, in completing the Summit as we know it to be, we created a declaration to live into for the year, instead of a question.
